Statistical Visualization System (SVS)

Issue:	Softjourn’s objective is to eliminate the distinction between in-house and distributed software development. To this end we organize working processes in such a way that it makes project and team management for our clients as effortless and efficient as possible. Very often when our clients are not in the office or travelling, they still want to have easy and quick access to the team’s current and completed activities to make sure the work and projects are going to be delivered on time and to determine when is the best time to start a new project or task, etc.
Solution:	After discussing the idea with our clients, Softjourn decided to develop a system that would let our clients visualize the status of all of the different projects their teams are involved in. The new app need to support all of the most popular smartphone platforms like iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, etc. Before starting actual development several brainstorming sessions were conducted between the team leads of a few of Softjourn's dedicated teams. This helped set the requirements and functionality of the new system.
Result:	The Statistical Visualization System (SVS) is available via web as well as via iPhone and Android phones. In the future Softjourn plans to support the Blackberry platform. SVS shows project team status on: • # of issues completed (based on time period), • % of issues completed The system has been successfully integrated with two popular project/issue tracking tools: Redmine and Fogbugz. Two of our dedicated team clients have started reviewing the system, after which an alfa version will be available for other users.
