Softjourn Assisting California Schools

Funding stream made simpler for California Public Schools

Easy-to-use software improves program participation
Fremont, CA [July 14, 2009] – Soon public schools receiving reimbursements for linking students and their families to Medi-Cal / Healthy Families Insurance and covered services will find it a much easier task.

Medical Billing Technologies, Inc. (MBT) has begun developing a new application called MAATS 2.0 in conjunction with Softjourn, a software engineering services firm headquartered in Fremont, CA, with operations in Ukraine.

School districts contract with MBT for consultation and training services to participate in the Medi-Cal Administrative Activities Program.  MAATS 2.0 will offer a ground-breaking, intuitive interface leading to a faster time entry process.  With this new version and MBT’s high-tech high-touch service, staff will experience dramatically reduced time and effort, and districts will see increased revenues – a hot topic during these tough economic times.

Release of version 2.0 is expected later this year.

About Medical Billing Technologies, Inc.

Medical Billing Technologies, Inc. serves school districts, county offices of education, community colleges, public health departments and community-based organizations, helping them to participate in four federally-funded reimbursement programs administered by the California Department of Health Care Services.  With MBT’s guidance, these entities receive more than $40 million in reimbursements annually.

More than one million children in California lack health insurance.  MBT’s chief goal is to support school and community efforts to link eligible children with available insurance and health care services.  By promoting general wellness and development, these efforts improve the ability of children to attend school and increase their capacity to learn.  By actively engaging in these efforts, MBT helps create sustainable health care systems for California children and their families.
